It’s Like Christmas… in August
The mailman came today. And he delivered! I got a bunch of gear for the Belize trip today. Correction, I got a bunch of toys from Santa Clause today, many of which I justified buying for this trip and, ultimately, for this website. I know that if I were to be pressed to it, I would not be able to justify buying a helmet mounted camera and maybe the new lenses were a stretch….
OK, I admit it, I’ve gotten way carried away. But these items are going to help Liz and I capture some amazing video and still pictures of the Belizean country. We’re dedicated to producing an amazing multi-media documentary of our trip and these resources are going to help us do that. Also, they will be useful on the next trip – that is, if I can ever afford to go on another one…
Anyway, I got to play with the helmet mounted camera a bit today. It’s pretty awesome. I’m looking forward to taking it outside. There are some setbacks – it doesn’t come with the best mounting gear, so if I’ll need to figure out some techniques for mounting it on different items such as kayaks, helmets and possibly even headbands. I know Liz would love to see some kind of perspective view during the zip lining. And I think I have some ideas as to how to pull that off. I think with that set up and the hand held webbie, would could put together some really cool video clips.
FYI: I got the V.I.O. POV from Backcountry.com
for a steal! They’re having a wicked good sale right now.
