New Camera Pt. 2
Today I did, in fact, acquire a new DSLR camera. The camera I bought was not the one mentioned in my previous post. That is a fine camera. At 12.1 MP, it produces some amazing pictures. And I think I could’ve done pretty well with it.
Instead, I picked up a step up, the Canon XTi. The XTi is pretty spectacular. This is what the Canon website reports:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi offers an unbeatable combination of performance, ease-of-use and value. It has a newly designed 10.1 Mega Pixel Canon CMOS sensor plus a host of new features including a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, the exclusive EOS Integrated Cleaning System featuring, a Self Cleaning Sensor and Canon’s Picture Style technology, all in a lightweight, ergonomic body. The Digital Rebel XTi is proof positive that Canon continues to lead the way with their phenomenal digital SLRs.
This is a fairly mid level DLSR camera that requires some sophistication in its users. It is equipped with many features beyond the standard point and click. Thus, Liz and I are going to have to read up on its features and work carefully to take advantage of this machine. I’m counting on coming home with thousands of pictures (some good, some not so good, and some probably awful), which we can sort through and produce our photo diary.
Liz is still working on that Sony Webbie. Here’s to hoping she pulls that off and we can rock a few hours of video too!
