This website originated in May 2009 right after Courtney found flights to Belize on Delta at a deeply discounted price. On a whim (knowing I wouldn’t protest) he booked them and our adventure had begun. Our intention of the site is for readers to gain an insight into planning and booking a trip to Belize. The website provides information from a more personalized view on things then your typical touristy type books and sites. And best of all, you have direct access to us to ask us questions and also share your experiences with us. We would love any advice we can on any of the topics discussed on this website and also any that we may be missing.

Courtney:

He is a 30 year old scientist/consultant from Boston, MA. He has traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad and loves to continue his travel exploits with new and exotic locales. “My only regret is that my first passport, with all of its stamps is expired and there are so many empty pages in my current passport.”

He had the luxury of growing up an ex-patriot as the son of a military officer spending nearly a decade in Europe and Asia. During this time, he traveled extensively with his family and developed a taste for history and travel adventure. His recent international travels have included Caribbean locations such as Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados and he recently returned from a trip to Austria.

Courtney is a highly experienced “travel novice.” This cliché state comes as a result of having traveled all over the world but never actually planning an itinerary. His youthful adventures were all managed by his parents and more recent trips have been arranged by friends. This trip to Belize will require some forward thinking and logistical planning if it is to be the incredible trip he’s hoping for.

His current planning governs trying to see jungle, islands and barrier reefs all in one week without zigzagging across the country.

He is active in social groups and enjoys a variety of leisure activities including diving, skiing, fishing, climbing, jogging, and swimming. He looks forward to diving the Blue Hole and the barrier reef and snorkeling every morning.

He may not demonstrate as much enthusiasm as Liz in this endeavor, but he is no less excited. “Belize has been a dream trip for me since the first time I donned a wet suit.”

Liz:

She is a 24 year old young professional from Boston who loves to travel but has only had the opportunity to travel within the United States. Never once has she left the States. She has had intentions and got her passport July 2008 hoping to travel outside the states before the year was out. That never happened.

But she is VERY excited for this new opportunity to travel to Belize as her first international experience and even more so excited to share in it with Courtney.

Liz is very outdoorsy and very adventurous. She enjoys experiencing new things and enjoys new thrills. She enjoys water sports especially and hopes to engage in plenty while in Belize. She hopes to experience the Belizean culture to it’s fullest but also to intertwine the typical romantic Caribbean getaway.

Liz might be the more critical of the two and can be pretty harsh on her reviews. But you can be assured that it is all in good fun.

Liz is ridiculous with her camera and takes way too many photos. She won’t let one minute of the trip go undocumented via words, photos or videos.

We have been together since January 2009 and both share in the joys of travel. We thrive on getting outdoors and engaging in adventurous activities and fun events that allow you to enjoy and experience life to the fullest.
